Dopamine Injection

Indications

1. Shock States

   • Used to treat hypotension (low blood pressure) in shock caused by:
     • Septic shock
     • Cardiogenic shock
     • Hypovolemic shock (as an adjunct to fluid replacement therapy)

2. Heart Failure

   • In acute heart failure, dopamine improves cardiac output by increasing the force of heart contractions.

3. Renal Perfusion

   • At low doses, dopamine selectively dilates renal blood vessels, increasing urine output and renal perfusion in conditions such as acute kidney injury.
