Uses of Papaverine:

1. Smooth Muscle Spasms:

   • Papaverine is used to relieve smooth muscle spasms in various parts of the body, particularly in the gastrointestinal tract (such as for irritable bowel syndrome) and the urinary tract.

2. Vasodilation and Erectile Dysfunction:

   • Papaverine can be used as part of combination therapy for erectile dysfunction. It works by relaxing blood vessels in the penis, thereby improving blood flow and enabling an erection.

3. Raynaud's Disease and Peripheral Artery Disease:

   • It may be used in the management of Raynaud's disease (a condition that affects blood flow to fingers and toes) or peripheral artery disease, as it helps improve circulation by dilating blood vessels.

4. Coronary Artery Spasm:

   • Papaverine is sometimes used in the treatment of coronary artery spasm that may occur during certain diagnostic procedures, to relax the coronary arteries and improve blood flow.
