Pediatric Care: Children are more susceptible to systemic absorption due to a larger skin surface area-to-body weight ratio. Use the absolute minimum amount necessary for the shortest duration.
Cleanse & Dry: Wash hands and clean the affected skin area gently before application.
Fingertip Unit (FTU): Squeeze a thin layer of cream. Use the Fingertip Unit rule (one FTU is the amount of cream squeezed from an adult index finger's tip to the first crease, which covers an area twice the size of an adult hand).
Apply: Smooth a thin layer gently onto the affected skin area once daily.
Frequency: Apply once daily (morning or evening), exactly as prescribed by your physician.
Wash Hands: Wash your hands thoroughly with soap right after application (unless treating hand eczema).
Elocon Cream is generally well-tolerated when used short-term, but local skin side effects can include:
Mild burning, stinging, or tingling sensation upon application.
Skin dryness, redness, or mild folliculitis (inflamed hair follicles).
Long-term or overuse can lead to skin thinning, stretch marks, loss of skin pigment, or easy bruising.
How long should I use Elocon Cream?
