Treclin Gel is a prescription combination acne treatment. Each 30g tube contains two active ingredients: Clindamycin (1%), a topical antibiotic, and Tretinoin (0.025%), a retinoid derived from Vitamin A.
Applied directly to the skin once daily at bedtime, it is used by adults and teenagers aged 12 and over to treat mild to moderate facial acne, helping clear up blackheads, whiteheads, and inflamed pimples.
Treclin combines two powerful ingredients that work together to clear your skin:
Clindamycin (Kills Germs): Stops the growth of bacteria (Cutibacterium acnes) that cause acne spots to become red, swollen, and painful.
Tretinoin (Unclogs Pores & Renews Skin): Speeds up how fast your skin sheds dead cells. This unclogs trapped oil in your pores and stops new pimples, blackheads, and whiteheads from forming.
Double Action: Unclogging the pores first makes it much easier for the antibiotic to get deep inside and clear out the bacteria.
🚨 Warning: Tretinoin makes your skin much more sensitive to sunlight and sunburn.
Avoid bright sunlight, sun lamps, and tanning beds while using this gel.
Always wear sunscreen (at least SPF 30) during the day, even on cloudy days.
Use Only at Bedtime: Apply the gel once a day at night. Sunlight breaks down tretinoin and makes it less effective if applied during the day.
Initial Skin Irritation: It is very common for your skin to become red, dry, or start peeling during the first few weeks. This is normal as your skin gets used to tretinoin. If the irritation is too strong, try using it every other night until your skin adapts.
Pregnancy Warning: Do NOT use Treclin Gel if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. Retinoids can be harmful to an unborn baby.
Avoid Sensitive Areas: Keep the gel away from your eyes, lips, nostrils, and any open cuts or sunburned skin.
Amount: Use a small pea-sized amount for your whole face. Using more will not clear your skin faster and will only cause bad irritation.
Wash & Wait: Wash your face with a mild soap and warm water. Pat it dry gently and wait 30 minutes before applying the gel. Applying it to damp skin can increase irritation.
Dab & Smooth: Dab the pea-sized drop on your forehead, chin, nose, and cheeks, then smooth it gently over your entire face. Wash your hands right after.
During the first few weeks of treatment, you might notice:
Mild skin redness, peeling, dryness, or flaking.
A slight burning or stinging feeling when you put it on.
Mild itching.
How long does it take to see results?
Skin takes time to heal. You may start seeing small improvements after 2 to 4 weeks, but it usually takes 8 to 12 weeks of continuous daily use to see clear results.
Can I use a moisturizer with Treclin Gel?
Yes! Using a gentle, oil-free (non-comedogenic) moisturizer will help soothe dry or peeling skin. You can apply your moisturizer after the gel has dried completely.
How should I store this gel?
