Covonia Throat Spray is an over-the-counter medicated throat spray. Each 30ml bottle contains two active ingredients per spray dose: Chlorhexidine Gluconate (0.2% w/v) and Lidocaine Hydrochloride (0.05% w/v).
Sprayed directly into the back of the mouth, adults and teenagers aged 12 and over use it for fast, targeted relief from painful sore throats, tonsillitis, and painful mouth ulcers.
Covonia Throat Spray combines a local anesthetic with an antiseptic to deliver double-action relief right to the site of pain:
Lidocaine (Fast Local Anesthetic): Quickly numbs the back of your throat on contact, taking away the sharp, burning pain felt when swallowing.
Chlorhexidine (Antibacterial Antiseptic): Fights and kills a broad spectrum of bacteria and micro-organisms in the mouth and throat, helping reduce the spread of throat infection.
Targeted Swivel Nozzle: The long, folding nozzle allows you to direct the spray precise to the painful area without making you gag.
🚨 Warning: Be careful when eating or drinking right after spraying.
The lidocaine in this spray numbs your mouth and throat. Avoid eating hot food or drinking hot liquids immediately after use, as you could burn your mouth or accidentally bite your tongue and cheeks.
Wait at least 30 to 60 minutes after spraying before eating or drinking.
Do NOT Inhale While Spraying: Hold your breath briefly while spraying to avoid inhaling the mist into your lungs.
Alcohol Notice: Contains ethanol (alcohol). Take this into account if you avoid alcohol for medical or personal reasons.
Age Limit: Suitable for adults and teenagers aged 12 years and older. Do NOT give to children under 12 years of age.
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Consult your doctor or pharmacist before using this spray if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Prepare: Fold out the long nozzle on the bottle until it sits horizontally.
Position: Point the end of the nozzle toward the back of your throat or the sore area in your mouth.
Spray: Hold your breath and press the spray button.
Adults (18+): Spray 3 to 5 squirts onto the sore area 6 to 10 times daily.
Teenagers (12 to 17 years): Spray 2 to 3 squirts onto the sore area 3 to 5 times daily.
Clean: Fold the nozzle back down after use to lock it.
Covonia Throat Spray is generally well-tolerated, but minor side effects can include:
A temporary numbing sensation in the mouth and tongue (expected).
Temporary superficial staining of the teeth or tongue from chlorhexidine (can be brushed away).
Mild taste disturbance right after use.
How long can I use Covonia Throat Spray?
Do not use this spray continuously for more than 2 to 3 days without consulting a doctor. If your sore throat does not improve or is accompanied by a high fever, consult a healthcare provider.
Can I use this spray if I have mouth ulcers?
Yes! The combination of numbing lidocaine and antiseptic chlorhexidine makes it very effective at soothing painful mouth ulcers and minor gum infections.
How should I store this bottle?
Keep the spray bottle in a cool, dry place strictly below 25°C or 30°C, away from direct heat and sunlight. Store upright and keep completely out of reach of children.
