Lipsore Aciclovir 5% Cream (2g Tube)

Lipsore Cream is an over-the-counter topical antiviral medication. Manufactured by Relonchem, each 2g tube contains 5% w/w Aciclovir (50mg of aciclovir per gram of cream) formulated in a soothing cream base.

Applied topically, adults and children use it for the treatment and rapid healing of cold sores on the lips and face caused by the Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV-1).

How It Works

Aciclovir is a potent antiviral agent:

  • Inhibits Viral DNA Synthesis: Converts into its active form (aciclovir triphosphate) inside HSV-infected cells and selectively inhibits viral DNA polymerase.

  • Stops Viral Replication: Prevents the cold sore virus from multiplying, shortening the lifespan and severity of the outbreak.

  • Speeds Healing & Eases Pain: Reduces healing time, halts blister progression, and relieves painful tingling, burning, and itching.

Important Warnings

Timing Matters (Start Early):

🚨 Early Application Notice: Lipsore Cream is most effective when applied at the very first sign of an outbreak—during the initial tingling, burning, or itching stage before the cold sore fully blisters.

Strictly For Outer Face & Lips:

🚨 Facial Use Only: Apply ONLY to cold sores on the outer lips and face.

  • Do NOT apply inside the mouth, eyes, nose, or genital area.

  • Avoid contact with mucous membranes and eyes.

Contagion & Hygiene Caution:

🚨 Cross-Contamination Risk: Cold sore blisters are highly contagious.

  • Wash hands thoroughly before and after applying cream.

  • Do NOT rub or pick at cold sore blisters to prevent spreading the virus to other areas of skin, eyes, or other people.

How to Apply It Safely

Application Guidelines:

  1. Clean Hands: Wash and dry your hands before application.

  2. Apply Thin Layer: Apply a small dab of cream to cover the affected cold sore area and the surrounding skin boundary.

  3. Frequency: Apply 5 times daily at approximately 4-hour intervals throughout the day (e.g., 7 AM, 11 AM, 3 PM, 7 PM, 11 PM).

  4. Duration: Continue treatment for 4 to 5 days. If the cold sore has not completely healed after 5 days, treatment can be extended up to a maximum of 10 days.

Possible Side Effects

Lipsore Aciclovir Cream is generally well-tolerated, but minor localized reactions can occasionally include:

  • Transient burning, stinging, or mild tingling immediately following application.

  • Mild dryness, flaking, or peeling of the treated lip skin.

  • Mild itching or redness at the application site.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will Lipsore Cream cure the cold sore virus permanently?

No. Cold sores are caused by the Herpes Simplex Virus, which remains dormant in nerve pathways. Aciclovir cream treats active outbreaks and speeds up healing time, but it does not eradicate the dormant virus from the body.

Can I share my tube of Lipsore Cream with family members?

No. Cold sore viruses are extremely contagious. Sharing tubes, towels, or lip products spreads the infection to others. Always keep your tube for individual personal use.

How should I store this tube?

Keep the tube tightly capped inside its outer carton. Store in a cool, dry place strictly below 25°C or 30°C, away from direct heat and sunlight. Do not freeze. Keep strictly out of reach of children.
