MONTIGET 4mg Chewable Tablets is a prescription medicine formulated specifically for children. Each chewable tablet contains 4mg of Montelukast (as Montelukast Sodium).
It is prescribed by pediatricians for young children (usually aged 2 to 5 years) for the daily prevention of asthma symptoms and to relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis (such as hay fever, sneezing, and a runny or blocked nose).
MONTIGET belongs to a group of medicines called leukotriene receptor antagonists:
Blocks Allergic Inflammatory Chemicals: It blocks natural body chemicals called leukotrienes.
Opens Airways & Eases Swelling: Leukotrienes cause swelling, tightness, and extra mucus in the lungs and nasal passages during asthma or allergy triggers. Blocking them keeps airways relaxed and open, making breathing much easier for your child.
🚨 Emergency Warning: MONTIGET is a daily preventive medicine and will NOT stop a sudden, acute asthma attack.
Always keep your child’s fast-acting rescue inhaler (such as Salbutamol/Ventolin) with you at all times for sudden breathing emergencies.
🚨 Behavioral Warning: Montelukast can occasionally cause changes in mood, sleep, or behavior in children.
Contact your pediatrician right away if you notice unusual irritability, severe restlessness, anxiety, agitation, bad dreams, sleepwalking, or sadness in your child.
Recommended Dose: Give one 4mg chewable tablet once daily in the evening (or as instructed by your child's pediatrician).
Chew Completely: The tablet must be chewed completely before swallowing. It should not be swallowed whole.
Give Consistently: Keep giving the tablet every day, even when your child has no active asthma or allergy symptoms.
Skip the missed tablet and give the next tablet at the normal time the following evening. Never give two tablets at once to make up for a missed dose.
