Myfortic 360mg is a prescription-only immunosuppressive medicine. The 120-tablet pack contains Mycophenolic Acid 360mg (present as Mycophenolate Sodium) in a specially coated, delayed-release tablet.

Myfortic works by selectively suppressing specific parts of your immune system:
Inhibits White Blood Cells: It blocks an enzyme called inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase (IMPDH), which T-lymphocytes and B-lymphocytes (white blood cells) rely on to grow and multiply.
Protects the Transplanted Organ: By stopping these immune cells from attacking the new organ, it helps your body accept the transplanted kidney.
Gastro-Resistant Coating: The tablets are gastro-resistant, meaning they pass through the stomach intact and release the active drug in the intestine to reduce stomach irritation.
🚨 Immune Suppression Hazard: Because Myfortic lowers your body's natural defenses, it increases your risk of catching serious infections (viral, bacterial, or fungal) and increases the long-term risk of developing lymphomas and skin cancers.
Report any fever, sore throat, or signs of infection to your transplant team immediately.
🚨 High Teratogenic Risk: Myfortic causes severe birth defects and pregnancy loss (miscarriage).
Women of childbearing potential must use effective contraception before starting, during, and for 6 weeks after stopping treatment.
Men taking Myfortic should use condoms during sex during treatment and for 90 days after stopping.
🚨 Sun Sensitivity: Limit exposure to direct sunlight and UV light by wearing protective clothing and using high-SPF sunscreen due to the increased risk of skin cancer.
Standard Adult Dosage: The usual recommended dose is 720mg (two 360mg tablets) taken twice daily (total daily dose of 1,440mg), or as specifically instructed by your doctor.
Swallow Whole: Swallow tablets whole with a glass of water. Do NOT crush, chew, split, or break tablets, as this breaks the protective enteric coating and can irritate your stomach.
Food Consistency: You can take Myfortic with or without food, but you must be consistent (always take it with food or always take it on an empty stomach) to maintain steady medicine levels in your blood.
Never Skip or Stop Doses: Take your doses at exact 12-hour intervals. Never adjust your dose or stop taking Myfortic without your transplant specialist’s direct order.
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and return to your regular schedule. Never take a double dose to make up for a missed one.
Digestive issues: Diarrhea, constipation, nausea, vomiting, or stomach cramps.
Low white blood cell levels (leukopenia) or low red blood cell levels (anemia).
Urinary tract infections or cold-like symptoms.
Mild joint or back pain.
Signs of infection (fever, chills, persistent sore throat, burning when urinating).
Unexpected bruising, bleeding, or unusual pale skin and extreme fatigue.
Black, tarry stools or vomiting blood (signs of stomach bleeding).
Keep tablets inside their original blister packaging and box to protect from moisture and light.
Store in a cool, dry place below 30°C.
