Otrivine Adult Drops are an over-the-counter fast-acting decongestant. The 10ml bottle contains the active ingredient Xylometazoline Hydrochloride (0.1% w/v).
It is formulated for adults and adolescents aged 12 years and older to quickly relieve nasal congestion, blocked sinuses, and stuffiness caused by colds, flu, sinusitis, or nasal allergies (hay fever).
Otrivine Adult Drops target swollen nasal membranes to clear your airways:
Unblocks Nasal Passages Fast: Xylometazoline constricts swollen blood vessels inside the lining of your nose and sinus cavities, opening up nasal passages within 2 to 5 minutes.
Long-Lasting Relief: Keeps your nose unblocked and breathing comfortably for up to 10 hours.
🚨 Rebound Congestion Warning: Do not use these drops continuously for more than 7 days in a row. Overusing decongestant drops can cause a "rebound effect" (rhinitis medicamentosa), making your nasal congestion worse when you stop.
🚨 Age Restriction: This 0.1% concentration is intended strictly for adults and adolescents aged 12 years and older. Do not give to children under 12 years of age.
🚨 Hygiene Warning: To prevent spreading infection, the bottle should only be used by one person.
Recommended Dosage: Administer 2 or 3 drops into each nostril, 2 to 3 times daily as needed. Do not exceed 3 applications per nostril in 24 hours.
How to Apply:
Gently blow your nose to clear your nostrils.
Wash your hands thoroughly.
Tilt your head back slightly or lie down on a bed with your head tilted over the edge.
Carefully place 2 to 3 drops into each nostril without touching the dropper tip to the inside of your nose.
Keep your head tilted back for 1 to 2 minutes to let the drops spread inside your nasal cavity.
Clean and dry the dropper before replacing the cap.
Otrivine Adult Drops are well-tolerated when used as directed. Mild, temporary side effects can include:
