Panadol ActiFast Soluble is an over-the-counter fast-acting effervescent pain reliever and fever reducer manufactured by GSK / Haleon. The 24-tablet pack contains 500mg of Paracetamol (Acetaminophen) per effervescent tablet, formulated with sodium bicarbonate to speed up absorption.
It is designed for the rapid relief of mild to moderate pain, including headaches, migraines, toothaches, period pain, backaches, sore throats, and rheumatic or muscle pains, as well as reducing fever and cold/flu aches.
Panadol ActiFast Soluble is formulated to work faster than standard paracetamol swallowed tablets:
Effervescent Accelerated Absorption: Dissolving the tablet in water before drinking allows the active paracetamol to pass through the stomach and absorb into the bloodstream up to twice as fast as standard tablets.
Targeted Pain & Fever Control: Paracetamol blocks prostaglandin synthesis in the central nervous system, stopping pain signals from reaching the brain and reducing body temperature during a fever.
Paracetamol Overdose Risk: Never exceed the maximum recommended daily limit (8 tablets / 4000mg in 24 hours). Overdosing on paracetamol can cause severe, life-threatening liver damage.
Sodium Caution: Each effervescent tablet contains significant sodium (up to 427mg per tablet). If you are on a salt-restricted/controlled-sodium diet, have high blood pressure, or suffer from severe heart or kidney conditions, speak with your doctor before taking this soluble format.
Avoid Combination Use: Do not take alongside any other medications containing paracetamol (including cold, flu, cough, or allergy remedies).
Recommended Dosage for Adults and Adolescents (Aged 16 Years & Older):
Dissolve 1 to 2 tablets in at least half to a full glass of water.
Take every 4 to 6 hours as needed.
Maximum dose: 8 tablets in any 24-hour period.
Recommended Dosage for Children (Aged 10 to 15 Years):
Dissolve 1 tablet in water up to 4 times daily as needed.
Maximum dose: 4 tablets in any 24-hour period.
Do not give paracetamol for more than 3 consecutive days without medical consultation.
How to Administer:
Must be completely dissolved in water before drinking. Do not swallow or chew whole effervescent tablets.
Allow at least 4 hours between doses.
Panadol ActiFast Soluble is generally very safe and well-tolerated when used at recommended doses. Rare side effects may include:
Mild digestive discomfort or bloating (from carbonation).
Mild skin allergic reactions (such as rash or itching).
Store in a cool, dry place below 25°C or 30°C.
